About Miriam von Borcke Matutu
Transformation & Leadership Coach
Miriam von Borcke Matutu is a trauma-informed Leadership and Transformation Coach, dedicated to guiding individuals and organizations through profound change. As the Founder of TraWell Coaching, she integrates cutting-edge coaching psychology with trauma-responsive methodologies to create safe, empowering spaces for leadership development, personal transformation, and organizational growth.
With a background in international development, leadership coaching, and intercultural training, Miriam brings over two decades of experience supporting executives, teams, and non-profits across multiple sectors. She has worked extensively with leaders in the private and non-profit sectors through her roles at BCA Leadership and Extend Care & Consulting, where she facilitates transformational leadership programs, executive coaching, and trauma-informed interventions.
Before founding TraWell Coaching, Miriam served as Country Director for Comundo in Zambia, where she organizational transitions, built collaborative networks, and spearheaded capacity-building initiatives for social impact. Her leadership experience spans program development, safeguarding, and navigating complex change processes, equipping her with a deep understanding of how trauma, culture, and leadership intersect.
Miriam holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Coaching and Coaching Psychology from the Pretoria Centre for Work-Based Learning, a Trauma-Informed Consulting & Coaching Certificate from the Academy of Inner Science & Mobius Executive Leadership, and is an accredited Journey Practitioner and Advanced BLAST Technique Practitioner. She also holds a BA and MA in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
She is a Co-Founder and Board Member of the Professional Coaching Association in Zambia (PCAZ) and a certified yoga teacher. Fluent in German, English, and French, Miriam is passionate about fostering leadership that is not only effective but also deeply humane, resilient, and attuned to the realities of personal and collective healing.
Collaborations
Extend Care, operating as Holistic Health Hub and provides comprehensive health care services for adults, teens and children. Their offerings include mental health counselling, OBGYN services, fetal sonography, coaching, child play therapy and learning & development. Miriam works as Transformation Coach Wednesdays at the Extend Clinic since January 2024. She also runs various group coaching programs like for example the 'What's Next?' 5 week clarity coaching program.
BCA Leadership is a Pan African leadership enhancement organization, created with the purpose of supporting leaders of organizations to increase their leadership capacity and performance, thus benefiting their organizations, stakeholders, and communities. Miriam has joined BCA in 2022 as a Coach and Co-facilitator of the Zambian Transformation Leadership Programs.
